Personal Insurance
Homeowners (HO-3)
Coverage for single-family homes — dwelling, contents, liability.
HO-3 is Florida's standard homeowners policy. It covers your house, attached structures, personal belongings, loss of use, and personal liability. Hurricane and wind are typically included with a separate hurricane deductible. Flood is excluded — that's a separate policy.
What's covered
- Dwelling (the house itself, repair/rebuild cost)
- Other structures (fence, shed, detached garage)
- Personal property (contents)
- Loss of use (alternate housing if displaced)
- Personal liability (lawsuit if someone is injured on your property)
- Hurricane + wind (with separate deductible)
What's not
- Flood damage (needs separate NFIP or private flood policy)
- Earthquake (rare in FL, separate rider)
- Wear & tear / lack of maintenance
Florida note
Florida's hurricane deductible is split from your standard deductible — typically 2%, 5%, or 10% of dwelling coverage, only triggered by a named storm. We help you choose the right balance of deductible vs. premium.
